PIGMENTATION REMOVAL
Unwanted pigmentation can be successfully lightened or removed. Sun spots, liver spots, freckles and other unwanted pigmentation are often associated with skin ageing and over exposure to the sun or sunbeds. All of these treatments are non-invasive, suitable for both the face and body and will result in a more even skin tone.
How does the treatment work?
The Lynton IPL produces short pulses of light that are easily absorbed by the melanin (colour) found in age spots, sun spots and freckles. The rapid absorption of light heats the melanin in the skin and destroys the melanin-rich cells. The number of treatments will depend on the area and client typically 3 sessions are required at 4 to 6 weeks intervals great results.

How does the treatment feel?
Most patients describe the discomfort as mild and tolerable and no anaesthesia is required.
What should I expect after the treatment?
The treated area may feel warm and sensitive for the first few days post treatment. The lesions may darken and may appear more obvious before they fade and ‘flake’ away. Sometimes an initial whitening of the area is seen which quickly fades and the pigment gradually fades over the following few weeks.
Are there any side effects?
The skin that surrounds the pigmentation may become red immediately after treatment. Most people experience no other side effects and the redness usually disappears within hours to a few days.

Consultation & Patch Test
Prior to treatment, a consultation is conducted to discuss your medical history to confirm suitability for treatment, there is also an opportunity for any questions you may have to be answered. Treatment plans are tailored to each individual client to suit their needs. If you wish to proceed with the treatment, a patch test is required before treatments at a cost £20, this payment will then be deducted from your first treatment.
